Creating Your Zippy Courses Public Details and Course Directory

Step 4 of the course creation process covers creating a sales page for your online course. If you're just getting started and haven't created your first course, you can click here to start this support guide series from the beginning.

Along with letting you create your own courses, Zippy Courses includes the tools you need to promote and sell your courses right out of the box as well. This includes a built-in course directory and sales page, which can be used to let students join your course in just a few clicks.

Creating Your Sales Page

The main page that you will use to sell your course is the Public Details page for your course. The link to this page is the same as the URL for your course - if a student doesn’t own the course, a sales page is displayed instead.

This page is created under the Public Details tab in your Course Editor.

The layout of this page is similar to the layout of your Course Details page. You can set a synopsis, a featured image and/or video, and add your own content to the page. Unlike the rest of the content in your course, the information displayed on this page is publicly accessible to everyone, so make sure your content is focused on selling your course to prospective students.

Testimonials

An added feature of the Public Details tab is the ability to add testimonials to your public page. These testimonials are a great way to highlight success stories and build your own reputation with potential customers.

Clicking Add New Testimonial will let you add a Name, Job Title, image, and Testimonial for an individual. These testimonials will automatically be formatted to be displayed prominently on your site’s sales page.

The Course Directory

Of course, your sales page is only useful for converting students if it can be found. That's why we added the Course Directory to your site as well. This directory is a page that is automatically generated by Zippy Courses to showcase the courses on your site that are available. For example, you can see three courses displayed on an example Course Directory page below:

As soon as a course in your site is available for sale, it will be added to your Course Directory page - you don't need to do anything else to connect your sales page to the Course Directory.

When your sales page is set up, the final step is setting the price of your course, so students can purchase your course and automatically get access to your site. We explain how to set up those pricing plans in our next guide:
